SHOWDOGS-L

WEB RING

Rules and instructions

1. To be eligible to join you need to have a web page and you need to belong to the Showdogs-L e-mail list

2. The url you submit for membership must identically match the url of the page on which you will place the web ring html or you jeopardize the integrity of the ring which won't be fair to the other ring members.

3. We would like you to place the html ring code on your dog's page so that visitors traveling the ring are taken directly to the dog content they are expecting. But we understand that the color and content of the ring may not fit in with the color and content of your page. We do require if you place the ring graphic on a web ring page, that page should contain a link back to your home page that will easily allow visitors to find the dog content pages that they are looking for. Remember, whichever page you choose to put the ring code, it must match the site url you have listed as a ring member. If you need help in changing this, just let us know.

4. We hope that this web ring will bring visitors to our member's sites. A great way to educate the public on dog shows in general and the responsibility of dog ownership . We have to stress that your site needs to be working correctly; graphics and animation can be seen, menus work and links are active. Special effects must be seen by the majority of computer users and not crash browsers. We don't want ring surfers to get discouraged and stop their visits to other member sites.

5. Our ring graphic was created to have a specific appearance and be a specific size, so do not alter the graphic in any way. You do not have to download the graphic but we appreciate those that do. The html code you will be given will automatically pull the graphic into your ring code and consequently into your web page. If you choose to download the graphic, it can be found at the top of this page. You will need to delete the "dead" picture on your page and insert the graphic if you choose to do so. The graphic is copyrighted and was produced by talented list member Sandra L. Reiley-Lince.

6. If your site is associated with a larger site, that site must be family friendly and appropriate for children to visit.

7. To join the web ring, please go to http://www.alt-webring.com/cgi-bin/newsite.pl?ringid=vmatheny and complete the information requested (again show the web page. that will contain the web ring code)

7. Once you submit your web page, you will be sent a notification that your registration was successful. This email will contain the web code that you will need to add to the site that you submitted. Please add this information as soon as you can

8. This ring does not notify your ring coordinator of new applications so please send a quick email to web ring@showdogs-l.com just to let us know that you have applied
